About Snake Battle

Snake Battle started as a weekend project. The idea was simple: what if Slither.io had more than one game mode?

That was early 2025. Since then, it's grown into a multiplayer snake game with 8 game modes, global leaderboards, and thousands of players. But the core idea hasn't changed - make a snake game that doesn't get boring after 10 minutes.

Why We Built This

Here's the honest truth: most browser snake games are the same game with different skins. You eat dots, you grow, you try not to crash. That's it. After a few rounds, you've seen everything.

We wanted more. What if there was a Battle Royale mode where the map shrinks? What if you could play team deathmatch? What if there were power-ups that actually changed the gameplay?

So we built it. 8 game modes, each with its own strategy and feel:

What We Believe In

A few things we care about:

Free means free. No premium accounts, no pay-to-win skins that give stat boosts, no "watch an ad to continue." The game is free. Period.

No download required. We think the best games are the ones you can play right now. Open a browser tab, click play, you're in. Works on Chromebooks, school laptops, work computers, phones, whatever.

Performance matters. We optimize for potato computers. If your device can run YouTube, it can run Snake Battle. Smooth gameplay on integrated graphics, slow WiFi, old browsers.

Privacy is real. We don't track you across the web. We don't sell your data. We don't even require an account. Play anonymously if you want.

The Tech Behind It

Snake Battle runs on HTML5 Canvas with WebSocket multiplayer. The server handles game state, the client handles rendering. We use spatial partitioning for collision detection (so it stays fast even with 50 snakes on screen) and delta compression for network updates (so it works on slow connections).

Translation: it's fast, it's smooth, and it works everywhere. That's what matters.

What's Next

We're always working on improvements. Better matchmaking, new game modes, performance optimizations, and quality-of-life features based on player feedback.

Got ideas? Found a bug? Just want to say hi? We read everything.

Our Other Games

We also built a few other browser games you might enjoy:

Each game is a separate project with its own team and focus. We link them here for players who want to try something different.
